Download WidelAI for Mac
A native Mac app with a coding agent that works on your actual project. Free to download. Requires macOS 14 Sonoma or newer, plus an active plan to generate responses.
Apple silicon
Any Mac with an M-series chip. This is almost certainly the one you want.

What the Mac app adds
Everything the web workspace does, plus the things only a native app with access to your machine can do.
A coding agent on your machine
It reads and edits the files in the project you point it at, and runs commands in your own shell — not in a container that cannot see your setup.
Revert anything it does
Every run is checkpointed. Undo a single edit or roll the whole session back if the agent took a wrong turn.
Review before you keep it
Changes arrive as diffs you read, file by file, rather than as edits that already happened.
Switch models mid-conversation
Ask the same question of two models in one thread. Where strong models disagree is usually where the problem actually is.
Several projects at once
Keep separate coding sessions open per project, each with its own history and workspace.
Session kept in the Keychain
Your sign-in is stored in the macOS Keychain rather than a plain file, and never leaves the Mac it was created on.
Installing it
- 1
Open the disk image
Double-click the downloaded .dmg, then drag WidelAI into your Applications folder.
- 2
Launch it
The app is signed with our Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it opens normally. You will not see a “damaged and can’t be opened” warning, and you should never need to right-click to bypass Gatekeeper — if you do, the file did not come from us.
- 3
Sign in
Use the same account you use on the web. Your conversations are already there.
- 4
Point it at a project
Open a folder to give the coding agent a workspace. It can only read and write inside the folder you choose.
What it can reach, and what it cannot
The coding agent edits files and runs commands, so being straight about its limits matters more here than in a browser tab.
It works inside the folder you open, and refuses paths that escape it.
Edits are shown as diffs before you accept them, and every run can be reverted.
Your prompts, files, and outputs are never used to train AI models. Content goes to the model provider you pick, to answer your request, and nowhere else.
Your session lives in the macOS Keychain, marked so it never syncs or migrates to another Mac.
Updates are signed and verified against our Developer ID before they install. A build that fails that check is refused and the working copy is left alone.
Answers are produced by AI models and can be wrong. Read the diffs. Full detail is in our privacy policy.
