WidelCode for ChatGPT: cloud coding agents for GitHub

The WidelCode plugin starts cloud coding agents on your GitHub repositories from ChatGPT. Describe a change, and an agent edits the code on a new branch, runs your tests, pushes it and can open a pull request while you keep chatting.

What WidelCode adds to ChatGPT

  • From request to pull request

Describe the change in ChatGPT. The agent works on a new branch, pushes it, and can open a pull request on GitHub.

  • Isolated cloud containers

Each run has its own container that clones your repository, edits files and runs commands and tests.

  • Watch runs live

Follow progress in the WidelCode sidebar app or the Cloud runs panel beside a conversation.

  • Approve commands when you want control

Set a run to ask first, then allow or deny each command from ChatGPT.

  • Review the diff

See every changed file with its diff, send follow-up instructions, or stop a run.

  • Budgets you set

A run stops at the credit budget you choose. Container time counts at 0.5 credits per started minute.

Try asking ChatGPT

  • Fix the failing tests in my repo and open a pull request.
  • How is my latest cloud run doing?
  • Show me the changes my last run made.
  • Upgrade acme/web to Node 22 and make sure the build passes.
  • Add a dark mode toggle to the settings page and open a PR.

Questions

What does the WidelCode plugin for ChatGPT do?
It starts WidelCode cloud coding agents on your GitHub repositories from ChatGPT. Each run edits code on a new branch in an isolated container, pushes the branch and can open a pull request.
Which code hosts are supported?
GitHub. You install the WidelCode GitHub App on the repositories WidelCode may work on, and you can remove it at any time.
Will it merge changes into my main branch?
No. A run works on its own branch and, if you ask, opens a pull request. You review and merge it yourself.
Can I approve commands before they run?
Yes. Set approvals to ask in the plugin's settings or for a single run, and the agent waits for your decision in ChatGPT before each command.
How are runs billed?
Runs use WidelAI credits for model usage plus 0.5 credits per started minute of container time, and stop at the budget you set. You need a WidelAI account with an active plan.
How many runs can I have at once?
Up to five active runs per account.
